how do you start a new game on halo 3, xbox 360?

i have just been given an xbox 360 off my friend, it was his old one, with all his old game, along with the games came halo 3. when i turned the game on, i found it was still his old game files and progress, he is too far into the game and i have no idea how to play, i want to start the whole thing again but have no idea. any help please guys? thaaaanks x

Go to the level select option when you start the campaign, and choose the very first level. If you don't want to do that, and instead erase every scape that your friend did, then you're going to have to go into the memory of the system and delete the game progress.
