How halo 3 exp works?

Like how much experience you get when you win a social match, and how much when you win a ranked match.
Also what that number means when your in a ranked match i.e. Ranked team snipers - my number is 3

It's 1 exp per match win,2 on the double exp playlist.The number is your highest skill rating,have a high enough highest skill and say your highest skill is 19 and you have a certain amount of exp left to rank up you can also get your highest skill up 1 more(by winning matches in ranked playlists)and you will go to the next rank instead of getting the certain amount of exp to rank up
