How I Should Convince my parents to let me buy Halo 3?

I was wondering what a good strategy would be to convince my parents to let me but Halo 3. I just got a 360 andi want to get it, but:

1) My mom hates violence
2) my dad could care less, though he sides with my mom
3) if i do get it without my parent's permission, i most likely would have to return it.

any advice?

well there isnt a lot of blood in halo so if you show your parents the game maybe they will see that its not as violent as most other games
