How to file share on Halo 3?

I am trying to get a map from someone else on Halo 3 file share. Do I need to add them to my friends list or what do I do to get someone elses maps or videos on Halo 3 file share?

get their hard drive/mem card and swap the files to your hard drive/mem card

just go to they're File Share and press A on the file you want to download.. it should automaticly start downloading
