How to find matches without being party leader on halo 3?

Whenever I play halo 3 I go on matchmaking or custom games and I'm always the party leader, when I select xbox live it only gives me options for making a party. I play it sometimes but I wanna go on other people's matches. How do I find matches like infection, multi matches, and large battles without being party leader. And I know some parties are private but I just wanna find matches without being party leader.

It will tell you that you are party leader, but that is just for your own halo 3 party. It tells everyone else that they are party leader also. Plus, you can't play infection online unless its a private match. its stupid cause infection is awesome but that's how it is.
