how to get on a team with other people on halo 3 live?

just go to matchmaking on the main menu pick a playlist and and click start game it will begin searching and you will find a match the open party means that your friends on xbox live can play with you if they want

set it to open party
invite friends
invite recent friends if you want
and once you do all that you can start playing
if you dont have any friends go into matchmaking by yourself get comfy with some people you played with like if they are nice people and good
then after that game you click X and party up with them
keep playing with them send them friend request and thats how you get friends
then if they are on when you are invite them to the game or just keep it on open party and they will come themselves
