I can't chat in Halo 1 PC?

I am having a lot of problems on my Halo 1 PC, I can't type, when I press T it just shows me a grey box, and I can't type in it, also when someone kills me or I kill someone, I can't see who did, it doesn't appear, can someone please help me, I just started playing Halo 1 for PC. Please don't give me the microsoft links, because all 3 of those methods didn't help me at all.

thats weird.. ive got Halo 1 PC as well and i have no issues with it at all... have you tried reinstalling? changing your display options? taking it back for a swap?
