See if you can go to the video store and rent them to see what one you like the best. and if that does not work buy both of them.

Modern Warfare 2 would be the best of the two. Halo ODST is little more than an expansion pack, it's very short and very simple. Its only redeeming feature is that it comes with every Halo 3 multiplayer map.

Modern Warfare hands down, its a better upgrade in the Call of Duty Series than the Halo ODST is to the Halo series + in ODST theres no matchmaking for Firefight so unless you have friends willing to join your game your not going to be enjoying that. Modern Warfare 2 is going to be on hell of an action game and thats just watching the trailers imagine just playing the damn game.
