I have to reopen the ports to play halo 3?

I have a D-Link VWR router, and every time i go and play halo 3 i have to reopen ports on my router to get my NAT to open. Every time i turn off my xbox 360, they like reset or something. Does anyone know how to keep these ports permanent on the router?
