I just bought Halo 1, will it work on vista!!!!!!!!!!!!?

So I just bought Halo, THE FIRST ONE, without thinking and the system requirements are obviously way too high for my pc, I know, it's an old computer. But on the other hand, my laptop is brand new, I just bought it a week ago. The system requirement lab said that it was way over exceeding the required system requirements, but the only thing I didn't think about is if it will work on Windows Vista. I haven't opened the box yet because I'm not sure If I want to risk opening it and it not even working because of Vista, help please!
