i need help w/ my halo 1 for pc!!?

every time i go to multiplayer from the main menu is says "attention: halo can not connect to the network", ?!?!?! i know its not my internet connection, but under my network setting it says connection type: dsl/cable (avrg) server port: 2302 and the cleint port says: 2302
is thare something i have to do or change?
