I need help with something on Halo 3: ODST's Avatar Awards. Can you help?

Alright, so I have the game Halo 3: ODST. The problem was, I always played it offline and not on Xbox Live and unlocked the achievements like that, and when I finally got on Xbox Live, I had the criteria to the get Avatar Awards. For some reason though, I can't get them. So in a shorter way of saying it: I have the achievements needed to get the Awards but it isn't letting me get them.
Can you help solve this problem?
