i was going to play halo 3 but when i got to play area from local to xboxlive it

told me i did not have acces? it told me that one or more players were not allowed to play, it was just me plaing on my live account

You need to purchase xbox live gold...this enables you to play online...until you buy it you can only play campaigns or custom games with ur friends.

Do u have Xbox Live Gold?

If not then u cant play online at all.

If u do, try restarting the game, ie switch off ur xbox. Then go straight into matchmaking.

Still no joy? Try changing the machmaking type to another gamemode, eg. if its a ranked try a player match or sumthin.

If that doesnt work, u might need to have the new maps now. I havent played the game in a while but if thats th problem ull have to download them from the xbox marketplace.
