if i have halo 3 and i put it in my computer and plug in the xbox...

Nope, sorry. If you want a PC version of Halo 3, your probably gonna have to wait about 3 or so years from now. =(
As for now, H3 is purely and exclusively for Xbox 360. Anything but the Xbox 360 simply won't be able to read the coding on the disc. On the other hand, if you were able to connect 360 software to your computer and reroute the main disc drive as your computer's drive, that might work. But that's gonna take A LOT of hacking and computer know how to do. And i emphasize A LOT!
