I'm getting a new 360, should i get halo 3 or ODST?

I want to know because I like the games and those would be the first game I would get.
I have a few questions.
-can you unlock armor permutations in Halo 3: Mythic that comes with ODST?
-Will they put citadel, longshore, and heretic on XBL marketplace for download to halo3?
-Can I use the armor permutations I get in halo 3: Mythic?

ODST it come with all the maps so thats some cash you can save plus ppl that play halo 3 could still connect to you.

It depends:
If you care about Halo's storyline then you should go ahead and get both, but if you just want the games for online play then get ODST because ODST has the exact same online capabilities (plus Firefight!) but it just has a campaign that is different.

Or if you care about the story, but just want one, still go ahead and get ODST because ODST is a PREQUEL to Halo 3. And if you get both then play ODST first.

Basically ODST is the best choice, but you can choose which course of action that I listed that you like best.

as far as i know the only unlockable armor for halo 3 was the hyabusa armor and have fun with that

you might be better off getting ODST, the main campaigns for both are rather weak and most people just play multiplayer. ODST comes with all the Halo 3 maps plus like 3 extra ones you cant get anywhere else (not sure if you will be able to pay for these maps in the future, but most likely yes)
