Is Gears of War better than Halo 3?

I was wondering if the Gears of War story mode is better than the Halo 3 story mode.
My friend also said that this game is scary. Is it?

gears of war is a great game. It has moments that will surprise you, not scare you ( unless your a 5 year old girl). The story is good and the chainsaw bayonet is awesome!!!

depends on what you liek in a game, id say rent both and which ever your like get that one.
