Is Halo: Reach a movie or a game?

im looking forward to buying Halo Reach so i told my friend and he said it was just a movie, so im not sure if it is a movie or game or what.

Halo:Fall of Reach was first a book in the Halo Series and is now being made into a Video Game which has an expected release date of September 1 2010. Beta release for the game is May 3 2010... Hey that's today!!!
