Is it just me, or was Halo 3 really a mediocre shooter with nothing large to

offer over Halo 2? I really don't think anything was accomplished in Halo 3 that couldn't have been done with a $20 download for Halo 2.

What are your thoughts? and give reasons to support your claims please.

I said LARGE to offer. New maps could have been done in a down load, armor ratio damage - download, eliminating the glitches of H2 - DOWNLOAD. The new physics engine and heads up display had to be done in a new game, true, but is a shiny new HUD and more rag doll soldiers really worth the extra cash?

I am not saying a sequel can't do a good job, COD4 did an awesome job, but Halo 3 was over-hyped. While not a bad game, really, it was nothing special either. Bioshock accomplished more, and looked better, too bad the online multiplayer was not as strong.

I don't believe it cost that much to make Halo 3, or Halo 2. They both were HIGHLY inferior to the first Halo! I still enjoy the first Halo, but I could see the sequels were just cash cows. It's a shame, typical American entertainment company stunt.

the story was a bit short but bungie has put emphasis on multiplay. if you have XBOX live then you will get much more out of it (but like me if you dont have xbox live then you would feel a bit ripped off)

also note the physics engine, LOADS of work has been done to it.
The new hardware handles the graphics SO much better, I've found.
The maps work better, the cut scenes look awesome thanks to the aforementioned physics engine, and what was gained cannot be done with a $20 download, lol!
Things just fit together better for me.
It's not a RPG, I don't expect much storyline from a FPS.
