Is there a graphic content filter in Halo 2-3:ODST or Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare?

My 12-year-old son has been asking me if he could play Call of Duty 4 and Halo 2-3:ODST. I told him he could not play Mature games unless there was a graphic content filter which disables blood, gore, and profanity. If so, I will purchase the games for him and let him play. Thanks for your help.

Call Of Duty 4 Does not and will never in the future have a Content Filter. The game deals with many graphic issues and many scene of extremely brutal violence. The game is rated Mature because of Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, and Strong language and SHOULD NOT be played by anyone under the age of 17. Halo 2-3:ODST is an exception because of the much lighter content of the game. No where in any halo game does it make the player kill another human being but instead only aliens that by no means act or look like humans. The only real reason the games in the series are mature are because of the harsh language that is not used that often in the game. There are molment of discolored blood but no gore that can worry any parent. However the Halo games do not have any content filter either but the sum of the game is quite tame for a 12 year old.

Yes, online foul language and interaction is often more disturbing for youngsters than the game content, particularly in exciting fast paced games like these.

It's up to you whether you allow your son to see the actual game content - it's unlikely anything he hasn't already seen at all before, or will be upset (or adversely affected in any way) by the game content in my opinion.

That's my opinion though and you're his parent! At the end of the day I salute you for taking an interest in your kid's welfare!

They are all pretty graphic. But One major thing you have to watch out for is Online Gameplay.
You will get people on ther using alot of profanity.

I've played both games and in truth CoD4 has even less blood as Halo does and with the swearing a few guys say sh*t maybe 2 or 3 times throughout the entire game but you don't hear it because there's 2 much noise going on. I would say CoD4 I would recommened for 14+ but Halo can be 10+. I say 14+ for MW because of it's political views so he probably wouldn't really understand much of it, there is one other scene where you chase a Terrorist up on a building but then he shoots himself but there's only a splatter of blood (not much at all) and the scene is over in 5 seconds.
