Legendary Halo 3 Ending?

What is the planet/object seen in the legendary ending of Halo 3, and how do you know? (And what is the blue light that's seen at the end as well)? Also, I don't think it's Onyx because Onyx is in the Milky Way Galaxy and the Master Chief and Cortana just left the Ark, which is outside the Milky Way Galaxy.

It doesn't mean that they couldn't have coasted into Onyx.

Ok well I have come to three main ideas that people say the first:
Master C is drifting towards a planet that infested with the Flood.

Or
He is heading towards a brute homeland.

or

He is actually heading towards a planet where there are surving spartan soliders like himslef which would be cool.

Nothing for sure
