...carbine better than BR? It just seems that if you don't need to lead with carbine it should kill faster.

The actually programming of Halo 3 is that the BR u need all 3 bullet hits for the kill but thats it one trigger pull and they drop with the carbine u need 2 shots for a regular kill but the fire rate of the carbine is faster than ur BR burst so it is better with carbine for getting quicker kills but u need 2 hit twice with the BR u need one hit so i usually use the carbine but not fussed when its not where it spawns because its funny when little kids rage at u for killing them with the BR especially using the one bullet fire glitch. summary
BR Kill 1 shot 1-3 bullets
Carbine Kill 2 shot 2 bullets
Funny when kids rage when u own with the BR
