my halo 3 game wont work....?

ok my game has worked fine, and just today when i load it the game either cant be read on my xbox 360, or the game will start to load then say cannot be read right after the bungie logo appears, or the game will begin to load and then go to a white screen that says "to play this disc put it in an xbox 360 console"
or something like that then will repeat that sentence in different languages on the screen. i think i might know why, today i knocked over my 360 a few times when halo 3 was running and i would hear a weird nosie, now theres all these scratch lines on my game disc.....i used a disc cleaner but it did not help...does anyone know how to get my game to work again?

It sucks I know....had this happen to me too. You've got to clear your cache out of your xbox. Not to worry, it won't hurt anything. Here's how to do it:

Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

Edited to say: You may have to have updates on all of your games afterwards, but that will work if it's just that game. If its because of the scratches use toothpaste. Rub the toothpaste on, let it dry, buff it off with a dry cloth. I know, I know....it works I promise used it on my COD4.
