My skills are at an impass in Halo 3! HELP!?

I've been playing Halo all of my life, but it feels as if I am at an impass, one that I can't get past. I'm a level 40, and I do almost everything perfect. Stickies, weapons, oddball, king of the hill, melees, I'm great at everything, but I still find myself not able to improve my levels. Why is this? I lose almost every time, and I don't understand. Is it my sens. level? Help! I want nothing more than to be the best player of Halo in all time

PS: Please don't flame or say comments like "Just practice" or things like that. Real advice.

You may be really good at Halo... But there are other people who could be better when you get to such a high level. Try a different strategy while playing. That's the best advice I can give you.
