discs but I only have 1 hdd? Ok here's what's up...
I have had my current xbox pro console with a 20gig hdd for about 2 years now. I grabbed my halo 3 disc about the same time I got the console. For about a year and a half my halo 3 disc worked great with the console.
Then.....
One night we were playing multiplayer online and after every 2 to 3 matches we would be in the lobby in matchmaking and when it went to load the map to play the next fight we would get an unreadable disc error.
Of course my first thought was my halo disc was scratched so I cleaned out my xbox and my halo 3 disc, even took it to gamestop to have the scratches buffed.
It did not help.
So I sucked it out and shelled out the money for odst and the campaign worked, and we went to play the multiplayer online disc and BAM! Same thing!...what in the world!
Soooo now I'm guessing its my xbox even though it plays any other game and movie great.
So now not being a rich man I purchase an xbox elite and another copy of odst and same freaking problem, I even created a new live account to play on!!!!
What are the odds?
I heard some ppl where having problems with older xboxs and unreadable disc errors because of the older disc drives but now I have the elite and multiple copies of halo to try and not combination works!! How could this be!!
The thing is I have 2 consoles but only one hard drive I've been using, so should I get a new hard drive that is the last thing I caould think of is maybe a corrupt halo file on the drive even though I have reformated and cleared the cache many times and copied the game to the drive to see if that helped and nope.....
Please help shed some light on this issue.!!!!!!
