PC Halo 1 problems?

I just installed Halo 1 onto my laptop (which has vista home premium) and whenever i try to go online, it says i need administrator privileges to download the current patch after checking for updates for a few seconds. How do i make it install the patch so i can play online?

Also, the account im using is an administrator.

if your account your using is limited change to administrator and the patch will work
