i have a friend who's dad wont let him buy halo 3 because it is said to cause the red ring of death. is this true. or did this just start because people play it so much the system overheats causeing the RRoD anyway?
Halo 3 DOES NOT cause the red rings. Red Rings are caused when the chip in the xbox overheats and the glue melts off of the chip and causes the chip to slide off..
to tell you the truth the red ring of death is hardware failure but playing to much causing it to over heat will higher your risk getting the red ring of death. playstation 3 is a way better system. whats the whole point of getting a game when it is going to break in like 1 to 3 years(this is a fact).
all the people i know who have an xbox 360 said they have encountered the red rings of death.
if you do get it here are some tips on how to lower your chances. xD

tell your friends dad that he is an idiot and i hope you show him this. he deserves a slap because how in the blue hell can a stupid game cause hardware failure. he was either born stupid or had to work at it. uhh..no offense
