Questions about halo 3 on xbox 360 live...?

I've recently gone live with halo 3 and juast have a few questions:
1. When playing, how do i speak to people using the headset and hear what they are saying (i remember this from halo 2)

2. When i go to matchmaking>xbox live>open party>ranked match i can only choose one game, lone wolf, it says i don't have the right maps to play team slayer ect.

3. After playing a match I have to search for a whole new group of players again even though it says match will start in 15... 14... 13... seconds

Yes i know i am a noob and i would be really thankfull for your answers

You can hear them normally, its just there is no voice allowed in lone wolves. But you have to press up on the dpad to speak when there is more than 4 people on your team.

You need to download the heroic mappack, it is free. You can do this from the main menu.

Yes, that is how halo matchmaking works. Ranked always works that way, while in social games players can elect to party up by pressing the x button.
