Questions about Xbox 360 gold subscription, and live splitscreen for Halo 3.?

Halo online question:
If I have a gold subscription, can I play online and ranked with another person playing on my xbox.. you know, splitscreen?


Gold subscription question:
If I buy the gold subscription, will it only work with one profile on my xbox? To play ranked with another person, would I need to subscriptions... one for my profile and one for the other person's?

I don't have live yet, but I'm considering.

Halo 3 you can play social not ranked with a guest beside you playing on a guest account

If you buy a gold subscription it will only work for 1 account on the 360 but others can play as guests and you can all play together.

yes you would need the other pro to be live,cuz u can play split screen on halo but when u play rank it wont let u
