I'm going to buy halo 3, but i never plae halo 1 or 2. I tried them but never played them through, due to that i never owned a xbox, i recently just bought the 360. So should i play the othet two, if its possible to play on the 360 or should i just forget about it and go on with halo 3.

First off, it is possible to play all 3 of the Halo games on a 360 because in light of the series' popularity Microsoft made the 1st 2 backwards compatible. The next matter is purely one of preference for you. I have completed all 3 in the order they came out in and enjoyed the story line, but each installment in the trilogy is more than capable of standing on its own with out raising any more questions than the writers at bungie would have wanted you to in the first place.

If you are interested in the plot, then yes. You need to have played Halo 1 to understand what the Flood and Halos are and Halo 2 will explain about the Brutes and the Great Journey.

However, if you just want to shoot grunts then just read the manual as it gives the basics of the plot.

Definately play Halo 1 & 2 before 3! Its a huge epic story line. To put it simply, it would be like watching Return of the Jedi before the other Star Wars movies. But I'm sure you have a friend or two with Halo 1 n' 2. So try to schedule a day where you can play through the first 2, since any average gamer can breeze through the first 2 in a little under a day. Once thats done you'll understand the story line and Halo 3 will be just that much better. Trust me.
