Should I trade halo 3 for call of duty 4 ?

no! keep halo 3 and save yur money for cod 4. besides you wont get enough just by selling halo 3 and i dont know why but i think halo 3 is more fun. (although thAt other guy is right the level up system is a mess.)
cod4 has more programing script so your slow ethernet could be a big problem if you try to play it with a long ethernet cord (especially if you already have trouble with halo 3)

I would..I rarely even play Halo thanks to Call of Duty 4 lol..and yes, you have to pay for XBox Live...you can find a few 48 hour trials and all that, but you do have to pay for it...
