With the release of District 9 I see a lot of revamped discussion on the Halo movie needing to be made, I could not disagree more.
Halo was a fun game sure, but it was nothing special, it did not define its genre, and it was nothing revolutionary. If anything it was a decent run and gun game with good physics engine and larger maps (for its time). It lacked a strong story and the enemy variety was hella lame.
In my opinion there are two FPS games that could be made into great sci fi movies.
1) Half Life: Has a great original story, revolutionized the FPS genre so its more important than Halo, the enemies are brutal, and the ending is so epic.
2) Resistance Fall of Man: Has a similar story to "District 9", BALLS TO THE WALL action throughout the whole game, awesome enemies and awesome weapons.
