Tips for Halo 3?

I need help. BAD I suck at Halo 3 but Istill Melee,Reload between Battles,Etc Any tips?

By the way if you have seen "Afineline" (Pronounced A Fine Line) The you know my level of crappyness...
I've bought a guide and it is of no help at all.

simple stuff like aim at the head, duel weild a plasma pistol charge to knock off shilds and use a human pistol or smg to finish them off. or just charge plasma pistol blast em and then melee.

you need to be more specific. like what mode. on LIVE, make sure you aim 4 the head or at least chest. my stupid brother likes to shoot peoples thighs.
