went to friends house to play halo 3, cant recover gamertag becouse idk the...

...password. needa help? i put my gamertag in and then it asks me for my windows live id which i hope is the right 1 and then i put my password in and it says its incorrect?? i saw the forgot password thing but that didnt help me. went to it and it just changed my password for that site, still wont let me recover my gamertag:( HELP

I never had a problem recovering my gamertag but just start the process over & make sure you use the email address you open xbox live with. If you not sure of password for that addresss just go to xbox.com and go through the sign in process.
