What age should play Halo 1 for the pc?

My son is 12 and wants to play Halo I don't let him play any others but im thinking about this one. can you please help me decide and give examples of why

Its fine, language are barely, mild red blood, most of them are alien blood (blue, purple and orange sherbet).
