What can i do to be able to host a halo 1 server?

Ok...So on halo: Combat Evolved, you can host a server on multiplayer, i can do that on my windows 7 computer which i can't use anymore... But i cant on this computer. Can someone come up with a solution for my issue. Try not to say fowarding my ports unless thats my only option...
