what is with the halo 3 ranking system?

Im talking about the secondary ranks. Like I have a lieutenant for team snipers and I have a gunnery Sergeant for team doubles and a recruit for lone wolves. What is the point of all these? When I check my stats for bungie I see a line under my team snipers rank and its trying to reach the end. What was the point of these system rankings?

each of your rank depends on how much xp you have in each section.

k halo 3 used to be a ranking system for the entire game but they updated it that way u have differnt rankings in differt playlist like lone wolve m good at so im a general but something like mlg im a captain cuz im not as good.i hope this helped
