What is with the MA5B gunfire in Halo 3? It is so quiet.?

In the first Halo, it was so loud. I'm not sure about the 2nd one, I only played it once. But if a fellow soldier, next to you is firing their weapon (pistol, or smg, ect.) You can't even hear your's and that isn't that fun. It is like your not even shooting. Why would they make it all quiet.

Well maybe people were complaining about hearing too much gunfire and not knowing what to do. I don't know. I noticed that just recently too (as in today... I just got my 360 and Halo 3 a few hours ago)
