I have encounterd the same experience many times. and i found out how to solve it to... DONT BUY STORY (RPG) GAMES! such as fable 2 thats out right now. the games you dont get tired of are the games with AWESOME online play. The best games that you don't get tired of is...
1. Call of Duty World at war
2. call of duty 4: modern warfare
3. Need for speed: Underground? (cant remember which version it is)
4. And if your into sports games Get any of the 2K9 for any sport, NOT live. hoped it helped!

These are the games I can think of at the top of my head that have a lot of life in them.
The next few games are shorter but are still worth playing:
BioShock

Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed
Fallout 3

Gears of War + 2
