Halo Wars - First introduction of the Spartan Project. Also the first encounters with the Brutes and Flood. Details the actions of UNSC frigate Spirit Of Fire and the fall of Harvest (earth colony).
Halo Reach - Around 30 yeas after Halo Wars. Details the destruction of the Spartan army and Reach, Earths last defensive planet. Noble Team is tasked with getting Cortana to Captain Keyes aboard the UNSC frigate Pillar Of Autumn.
Halo: Combat Evolved - Takes place immediately after the events of Reach. The Pillar Of Autumn is assaulted by Covenant forces. John-117 (Master Chief) is tasked with protecting Cortana. They explore the newly discovered Halo ring, which is eventually destroyed by Master Chief.
Halo 2 - Master Chief is orbiting earth when the Covenant appear and start destroying it. The Elites are shown to forge an alliance with the Humans after they realize that the Great Journey is false and will only lead to the death of all life in the galaxy. Cortana is left behind at the Covenant capital of High Charity, in case she needs to blow it up.
Halo 3: ODST - A team of ODST's are sent in to gain intelligence aboard a Covenant carrier hovering over New Mombassa. The carrier enters slpispace and the team is scattered throughout the city. The story details what was found beneath the sands of Africa: the Ark.
Halo 3 - Master Chief is back on Earth, along with the Arbiter, to stop the Covenant from activating the Halo's at the Ark and eliminating life in the galaxy. Cortana is rescued from Grave Mind, and Sgt. Johnson dies. They defeat the Covenant, but Master Chief doesn't make it back to earth. The frigate he is on is broken in half, and he is sent deep into uncharted space. He enters cryo sleep and tells Cortana to wake him when she needs him.
Halo 4 - Takes place directly after Halo 3. Master Chief is awoken by Cortana and they encounter a new entity.
Halo 5 - Unknown.
Halo 6 - Unknown.
