Whats with the video game, Halo 3? Are video games really that important?

So I said before I am in a long distance relationship. I been with him for over 7 months now and I have unconditional love for him so i except his habits. I made the mistake of getting him xbox live as well as Halo 3 for Christmas. Since I gave it to him all he does is play it. We started talking a lot less. We went form talking all the time to talking maybe an hour a day at most . I know he isn't cheating or anything just playing the game. Why is it so addicting? Why does he play it for hours? Its not like he is 16, he is 28! Why can't guys talk on the phone as they play the game?

Gaming is a big things in todays world. I am one of high skilled gamers for Major League Gaming, and halo 3 is one of the biggest games out right now. If you hadnt gotten him the game, we would some how get it anyway. yes it is that good. but in today's world gaming is take a lot more serious, people are making careers out of playing games. And that is what i plan on doing, going to professional gaming. although gaming is known to get addictive, you have to set limits. If you let him know that hes game is getting more attention than you, he will understand, and hes hours of gaming will go down just watch. A normal average time of playing games a day is about 2hr, more than that is pretty much addiction. We understand only if you let us know that, and most "big hits" games get boring after a few months so dont get your hopes down and go tell him what is going on.
