When i play halo 1 it doesn't tell me who i kill or when i get double kills.. why?

So if i kill someone it doesnt pop up saying "you killed johny124" for example. anyone know how i can change this?

First of all get an xbox 360 and second of all get Halo 3 and who cares halo 1 doesn't say who you killed not a big deal!!!!
