When is the Halo movie coming out?

I know they were going to make a halo movie, but when is it supposed to come out. I first heard in 2008, but yet there is no news about it. Is it a hoax?

it's not coming out anymore. Peter Jackson was supposed to direct it but he backed out.

In Nov 2007 2 design groups could not work together and the movie project was cancelled indefinately.
