Why can't I find my downloaded maps on halo 3 from fileshare.?

I recently got halo 3 for christmas and i wanted to download some maps from my friends fileshare I downloaded 2 maps from bungie favorites and they showed up but then the next day i only had the original maps. I've tried refdownloading them but nothing is working.

Halo 3 sometimes has a problem loading maps other than the defaults on the disc. It takes more time to display downloaded maps and DLC in the Custom Games lobby or Forge lobby. To solve this problem, enter the Custom Games lobby, and using the lobby selection tool at the top left of your screen, switch lobbies multiple times from Custom Game to some other lobby like Forge. Keep switching between lobbies until the loading icon appears in the middle of the screen. This is when your downloaded and DLC maps will load into your map selection. Other times the loading icon might not appear, and in this case just check your map selection to see if they are there. Hopefully this works for you, as it always worked for me!
