Anyone else think the graphics in Halo 3 could have been better?

When I compare Halo 3 to Halo 2...its not too much of a difference. I was expecting it to be a lot better since it was on the 360 and seeing graphics on games like Gears of War...I was ready to see some amazing graphics. Anyone else feel the same?
