Call of duty 4 or Halo 3?

I'm actually a fan of Halo's storyline and mythos and all that, but gameplay wise I find Call of Duty 4 much more compelling, it feels fast and brutal while Halo 3 feels too tactical and methodical at times.

I like Halo 3 better, but my brother is a gaming expert type of person and he prefers Call of Duty 4. By gaming expert I mean he researches games, looks at the ratings, and knows every game that's coming out and every game that's in stores. (I've asked him about tons of games and he knew every single one)
