Can I save my Halo 3 data and move it to another Xbox console?

Hey everyone, my mom bought me an Xbox 360 and the Halo 3 game for Christmas.
I've already played Halo for awhile and saved my game on the console, because I don't have a memory card.

Tomorrow I'm going to return my Xbox and go to a different store and buy the Elite version, but I can't buy a memory card in time to save my status in Halo (there's no way, I have to buy the Elite before it sells and return the other to get enough money for it).

Is there any way at all that I can get the data off of my console and save it somehow so that I can move it to the Elite Xbox? I seriously don't want to have to start over again.

Thanks,
Lisa

Do you have XBox LIVE?
If so, when you're starting up your new 360
And you go to sign in to your profile, go to:
RECOVER GAMERTAG
Enter in all the required information, but that's only for LIVE accounts

Option 2: Take off your HDD (Hard Drive) of 360 one, and put it on 360 two.
That should do the trick

OPTION 3: Buy a memory card
Store all saved data onto it, and transfer it over to your new HDD

That's all the options I can come up with
EDIT: I don't know if this works with Halo 3

I got this straight from a BUNGIE FAQ:

Q: I started playing the campaign at my house but when I took my HDD/MU to my friend’s house and put it on his Xbox 360, it won’t let me resume my campaign. What’s up?

A: This is a known issue that our team is investigating. Currently, you are unable to transfer campaign progress to another Xbox 360 console whether you use a memory unit or take your hard drive. You can load up any mission or insertion point you’ve previously completed but you won’t be able to “resume” from your last saved spot.

PS: If you DO have Xbox LIVE, add me

You need an Xbox Memory Card to move your save games onto that...

Microsoft have locked down the 360 too much... it's the only way for save games.
