Can you play Halo 3 on Windows Vista?

Yes (because it's GFW and all Games For Windows games will run on Vista... well too), and yes you can use an xbox 360 controller, as all official microsoft products will work in Vista, moreso than in XP because it automatically recieves the drivers, i think in XP you need to manually download a patch but Vista it's just fine.

No you can't because it's not a games for windows game and they haven't made one or will make one for that matter and you can connect your 360 controller to your pc with a Wireless Gaming Receiver, here's the link to it

Yes you can. It was originally made for Vista. (on PC) also if you have a wired controller, it is USB so it will plug a PC.
