do i need to play halo 3 to play halo 3 odst?

ive never owned halo but ive played halo 3 with friends and i was wondering is halo 3 different then halo 3 odst

The multiplayer is exactly the same and i'm not exaggerating. it is EXACTLY the same. The campaign is different and it has a new multiplayer mode called firefight but no u don't have to play Halo 3 in order to play ODST. It helps u become better at ODST if u played Halo 3 before.

all of them are stand alone games. don't bother trying to follow the storyline, as it's just bad.

gameplay wise, it'll basically be the same as 3.

No, ODST is a completely different game so you don't need Halo 3 for it.
