Halo 3 for XBox 360 and computer game...are there any major differences?

my son is almost 13, we have a rule that he is not allowed to play M rated games, but he convinced us, through much searching on the internet that Halo 3 for the computer should have been rated T. He is wanting to play Halo 3 on the XBox 360 at a friends house and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the major differences are...is one any more bloody or gorey than the other?

First off I am 14 and Im not going to swindle you into believing that Halo is a bad game I am going to tell you what its about and the content featured. Master Chief the Protagonist has to protect earth by destroying these rings called Halo's created by an ancient race while there is two antagonist races called the Covenent and the Flood the Flood is an infection and they just lap to your head and take over your body and thats basically looks like you get huge blisters all over while the Covenant is an alien race bent on destroying all humans because they deem them unworthy and they carry around plasma weapons the Covenant blood is blue and no body parts fly off at all except for there breathing tank you may look up pictures if you want. The Humans carry around weapons that look a little familiar such as a Sniper Rifle and a RPG. If I had to rate this game myself I would have given it a T oh there is also a little profanity.
