Halo 3 - Four Player Co-op?

Can anyone help me with this? I want to play Halo 3 with four people. I've heard it's possible, but I have no idea how it is. Can someone explain to me how to do so (I want to do it, obviously) in a simple way please?

Yeah what jjrimmer said would work for offline play (assuming you have 4 controllers and 3 other people at your house). If you want to do it online, you have to invite 3 other people to your party then switch to campaign.

Edit: nevermind I just found I was wrong. It only lets you do 2 people offline.. so you would have to hook up two xbox 360s (meaning you need two halo 3s and two TVs) with an ethernet cable so you're on LAN.

For online you need to go into the lobby and invite people (that are online) to join your party. Once they join, you can start an online game or campaign. Offline, you need at least 2 controllers and go to custom games.
If you want guests online, then you need at least 2 controllers and go to the matchmaking lobby and on the unsigned controller, hit "a" and a screen will come up for anyone to join. Scroll to the guest profile and there you go. Online on the same screen.

You have to do it online, so if you have an Xbox Live Gold membership, invite three friends, while you are in the campaign lobby and it will start, but be mindful that it is laggy.

Also, next year Halo ODST, the expansion pack to Halo 3 will let you play 4 players from the same xbox.

Go into single player get everyone to press start on there controllers then a scren will appear and ask everyone to press A and select a gamertag.

Once everyone has a gamertag and are in the party then choose the First level and start the 4 player co op

You need 2 XBoxs and two people per XBox. One XBox hosts the other joins. One person ends up as the Chief, another the Arbiter and the other two are nameless elites. Couldn't be more simple.
